“ Amazing! The sauce is smooth and dynamic, the toppings are fresh, and the dough is light yet filling! Amazing experience with the manager (Miguel?). Explained it was my first time and he guided me through options, allowed me to sample the sauce for the next time, and made sure the experience went well. Even the 12" pizza was more than enough . I went home with 2 extra slices and found out they have large slices available with a drink for 7bucks. Make sure to try this place for sure!! ”
“ 'Twas the night after a show at Lincoln Hall and after deciding we didn't want to opt for the bartender recommended spot (we were feeling some pizza) my friend and I made our way to Proper Pizza. TONY, my mfing hero, graciously welcomed us in half an hour before closing time to an immaculate, absolutely mother-approved clean and cozy restaurant (germaphobes, Tony got you). We eyed the slices and selected cheese, pepperoni, and sausage and I personally, as a sesame bagel girly, was excited to dig in (and it did NOT disappoint). If you love east coast dollar slice, this is a pretty good substitute, *especially* if you're a cheese fan. Ratio wise, you're looking at 70/30 cheese to crust (dollar slice being 90/10). Generous slice size for the cost. Tony was not only super nice about letting us dine in so close to closing time, he was very gracious when I accidentally dropped a cup of their signature matcha sauce (think a lovely dilly ranch freshly whipped up) on the floor (I got that adhd tilt) and gave us some background on the other Proper Pizza locations / got to know Tony himself, who is, as you can tell, a gem. We felt so at home I left my bag. When I called him in the morning to see if he had the bag, he instantly recognized me and said he'd have it for me to pick up and that he'd save me a slice. I mentioned the nutella pizza I saw in photos, and he had an ENTIRE ONE ready for me when I got there. Needless to say, I'll be going back to try the margherita and truffle and to say hi to my guy Tony. We love Tony! Tony forever. ”
“ The flavors and the crust are so good. It’s my favorite pizza in the city which I know is a tall comment. I do recommend eating it hot as it’s best that way! The only issue is the price is pretty high, but the flavors are so good and you can tell they are using high quality products. Recommendation would be to get the website updated. We always have issues ordering, for example, tonight we couldn’t order the special where we get a free dessert pizza. So we went on without it. ”
“ After peeking into multiple food spots in the area and not being pleased with any of them, I came across this pizzeria. The space is up to date, clean, and the decor is warm and inviting. The owner is super nice, personable, and will remember your name (if you come as often as I have now..LOL.) Now...the pizza...delicious! Whole pizzas are made to order, call ahead if you are in a time crunch (they do usually have single slices already made to go.) They also have more than just pizza... garlic bread, salads, desserts, and beverages, are also on the menu. The pizza flavors are unique and the owner can tell you all about the quality of the ingredients...especially the cheese. The sesame seeded crust adds an extra surprise element to the flavors, and you have to ask for their yummy, house made "macho sauce" for dipping! And don't forget your fresh basil leaves! Might seem a bit expensive, but prices are standard for pizza slice shops in Chicago and this one’s the best one. Also, you get a free drink for 7, at some of the other pizza places around here your paying 6 just for a slice alone ”
“ Was looking for a quick bite late at night and stumbled upon this joint. Lovely interior with a modern diner vibe. Staff was friendly. The pizza slice was a steal for the price - extremely huge! Rich cheese taste in my pepperoni slice. I would recommend it! ”
